Western New York

I made these photographs in September, 2020 while visiting a friend who lives in a small town in the western part of New York, about 30 miles east of Niagara Falls.

The hilly landscape in western New York is a lot different than the flat landscape where I live in northeast Indiana, and the small towns in that area of New York seem more propserous than many of the smaller towns in Indiana.

There are similarities, though. The architectural styles of the Main Street buildings are a lot like those in Indiana's small towns, and the people are very patriotic. As in Indiana's small towns, the American flag is prominantly displayed on nearly every home.
