Wells Street is one of the oldest commercial and residential areas of the city of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Many of the storefronts and houses in this neighborhood just north of downtown date from the mid to late nineteenth century. Nearly all of the stores there are still locally owned small businesses, including Hyde Brothers Books.

Much like Waynedale, on Fort Wayne's southwest side, this working class area seems untouched by the progress of time.
