Largest GE Building in Fort Wayne

This is the largest remaining building in the big General Electric manufacturing complex in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana. The structure's unusual stepped shape makes it look like several buildings grouped together, but it is actually a single building. The expanse of empty land in front of it used to be the site of another tall building, which was demolished several years before I made this photograph.

This building stands between Broadway and Fairfield Avenue. I photographed it looking east from a sidewalk on the west side of Broadway, just south of the railroad overpass. The famous lighted GE sign stands on top of the building, on the side facing Fairfield, though it is not visible from here.
