The owner of this brick house is a US Army veteran who served in the 1991 "Desert Storm" Gulf War. He made the hand-painted American flag that leans against the tree to serve as a temporary grave marker for his nephew who died in 2002. After the regular tombstone was installed at the cemetery, he brought the wooden flag home.

The house is located on Pleasant Center Road, just east of Bluffton Road (State Road 1), in rural Allen County, Indiana. The owner told me that it was built in the 1850s as a one-room schoolhouse. It served in that capacity until the early twentieth century, when it was converted into a residence.

Most of the schoolhouses that survive in Allen County were built much later, in the 1890s, and were built to a different design.

All of my prints are available framed or unframed. I use black metal Neilsen & Bainbridge frames with white cotton unbuffered museum board for the mat and backing board for maximum archival protection. Photographs are printed on an Epson pigment printer using Epson's archival ultrachrome inset for long life.

Credit card payment is handled through Paypal. You do not have to have a Paypal account. When you checkout, you will be taken to Paypal's site. If you have a Paypal account, sign in and approve the payment.

If you do not have a Paypal account, and do not want to sign up for one, there is a link on the Paypal page that says "Don't have a Paypal Account?" Click it to pay without signing up. It will accept your credit card like a normal credit card payment.

Unframed prints usually ship within 7 days. This allows time for me to make your print and to allow it to cure for several days before I package it to ship. Framed prints usually take about two weeks, because my framer usually requires about a week to complete his work.

Please Note: In late 2024, I was forced to dramatically increase the prices for framed prints. This reflects the actual cost of framing them. I make no profit from the additional charge for framing; I charge you what the framer charges me, and every framer that I know has had to ramp up prices due to inflation in recent years. I earn my living selling my photographs, and offer the framing at cost because many people prefer to buy a print that is framed and ready to display.
