This is one of the largest of the abandoned factory buildings at the sprawling General Electric campus in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana.

I photographed it from the parking lot behind the IUE-CWA Union Hall on Broadway. The mound of dirt separating the parking lot from the factory is a railway embankment, which still has one functioning track.

The building, which stands between Broadway and Fairfield Avenue, is best known for the large lighted GE sign, visible all over downtown Fort Wayne, that stands atop it.

It is interesting to compare the architecture of these ancient industrial buildings to that of modern factories. The old GE buildings are large, multi-floor brick buildings. They were built to last for a long time, and despite the utilitarian purpose of the buildings, they have little decorative touches that no modern company would "waste" money for on a modern factory.

All of my prints are available framed or unframed. I use black metal Neilsen & Bainbridge frames with white cotton unbuffered museum board for the mat and backing board for maximum archival protection. Photographs are printed on an Epson pigment printer using Epson's archival ultrachrome inset for long life.

Credit card payment is handled through Paypal. You do not have to have a Paypal account. When you checkout, you will be taken to Paypal's site. If you have a Paypal account, sign in and approve the payment.

If you do not have a Paypal account, and do not want to sign up for one, there is a link on the Paypal page that says "Don't have a Paypal Account?" Click it to pay without signing up. It will accept your credit card like a normal credit card payment.

Unframed prints usually ship within 7 days. This allows time for me to make your print and to allow it to cure for several days before I package it to ship. Framed prints usually take about two weeks, because my framer usually requires about a week to complete his work.

Please Note: In late 2024, I was forced to dramatically increase the prices for framed prints. This reflects the actual cost of framing them. I make no profit from the additional charge for framing; I charge you what the framer charges me, and every framer that I know has had to ramp up prices due to inflation in recent years. I earn my living selling my photographs, and offer the framing at cost because many people prefer to buy a print that is framed and ready to display.
