Exit 59

As long as I can remember, this old delivery van has sat in a cornfield on the east side of Interstate 69 in Grant County, Indiana. It is just north of Exit 259, though the windshield has "Exit 59" painted on it.

I-69 used to end on the northeast side of Indianapolis, 59 miles south of here. When the highway was extended to Evansville, 200 miles southwest of here, the exit was renamed "Exit 259, and the van's windows were not updated.

I've always wondered why the van was there. It is not advertising any businesses or tourist attractions, and there is nothing at Exit 259 except a couple of gas stations and restaurants.

Update: I discovered in early 2020 that the Exit 59 van has been removed from its place in the field along I-69.

All of my prints are available framed or unframed. I use black metal Neilsen & Bainbridge frames with white cotton unbuffered museum board for the mat and backing board for maximum archival protection. Photographs are printed on an Epson pigment printer using Epson's archival ultrachrome inset for long life.

Credit card payment is handled through Paypal. You do not have to have a Paypal account. When you checkout, you will be taken to Paypal's site. If you have a Paypal account, sign in and approve the payment.

If you do not have a Paypal account, and do not want to sign up for one, there is a link on the Paypal page that says "Don't have a Paypal Account?" Click it to pay without signing up. It will accept your credit card like a normal credit card payment.

Unframed prints usually ship within 7 days. This allows time for me to make your print and to allow it to cure for several days before I package it to ship. Framed prints usually take about two weeks, because my framer usually requires about a week to complete his work.

Please Note: In late 2024, I was forced to dramatically increase the prices for framed prints. This reflects the actual cost of framing them. I make no profit from the additional charge for framing; I charge you what the framer charges me, and every framer that I know has had to ramp up prices due to inflation in recent years. I earn my living selling my photographs, and offer the framing at cost because many people prefer to buy a print that is framed and ready to display.
