A mailbox at an abandoned house is stuffed full of old mail, and the box has been smashed by vandals.

Lost Mail

This mailbox belongs to the abandoned house with the painting in the attic on Lower Huntington Road, a couple miles west of Fort Wayne.

It is common to see mailboxes smashed in by vandals in rural areas outside Fort Wayne. There are several others that belong to inhabited homes on this road that are smashed just as badly.

I wonder how long the mailman kept stuffing mail into an abandoned house's mailbox before he realized that no one lived there?

Update: I drove out to this place on September 20, 2013, and was surprised to find that the house has been demolished.
